"[Brandon] Jenkins scored a career-high 31 points and David Padgett added 14 as eighth-ranked Louisville cruised to an effortless 81-58 triumph over California-Davis in a non-conference battle.
"A 6-3 junior, Jenkins had the touch from the outside going. His previous best from 3-point range came November 19 against Tennessee-Martin, connecting on 4-of-10 shots. On Monday, he drained 7-of-9 overall.
"The Cardinals (13-2, 1-1) were impressive in the first half, shooting 67 percent (18-of-27) and connecting on 7-of-14 shots from the arc.
"Terrence Williams had eight points and eight rebounds and fellow freshman Andre McGee scored seven for the Cardinals, who shot 54 percent (28-of-51) from the field and made 15-of-18 free throws."
Louisville's next game will be a Big East matchup on Sunday, January 15 against Pittsburgh in Freedom Hall.
