Continuing our Pittsburgh theme for the day, the Louisville Courier-Journal profiles 23-year-old Adam Neft of WWSZ-AM (1570) radio, the Louisville area's ESPN affiliate.
What's the angle?
He's an outsider (born in Pittsburgh and educated at IU) in a city full of insiders, they say.
He is unbiased, they say.
He's also just a little bit cocky, we say.
"Some people get on me because I'm not originally from around here and didn't grow up with Joe B. Hall and Denny Crum," Neft said. "But there are people who teach about the Civil War who didn't live through it, but they are brilliant about the Civil War. The reason is they've researched it and they love it. Same with me."
Adam Neft is a solid sportstalk host with an abundance of knowledge and
creative genius when it comes to sports. You all should be greatful to
have such a talented and well-rounded talent as Adam is in your market.
His training at IU and coming from Pittsburgh are more of a plus than
anything you may think of. Youth, experience, or whatever else you
complain of, Adam is the guy for the job.
