Given that we have never shied away from an opportunity to bash Louisville Cardinal football coach Bobby Petrino for his wandering eye, it is only fair that we applaud him for declining the persistent efforts of the Oakland Raiders to hire him as their head football coach.
Most recently, Petrino confirmed that he turned down the Raiders job for the third time, including a proposal this past Wednesday that would have paid him $18 million over five years.
According to ESPN.com, Petrino told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that "he was flattered by the Raiders' persistence but that he was committed to Louisville and did not feel his family was ready for a move."
Thanks, Bobby.
