From Sports Illustrated:
More than 100 Louisville football players took a break from routine football drills to travel to Fort Knox and take part in a portion of basic training that Army recruits normally experience.
The players participated Sunday in the leadership development course, which is based on real-life combat situations and helps identify leaders and evaluate intelligence, ingenuity and teamwork.
Coach Steve Kragthorpe says he wants the Cardinals to communicate with each other and hoped to learn something from the way the players responded to stressful situations.
Louisville's season opens Sept. 5 at home against Indiana State.
