On Saturday August 1, 2009 in Dallas, the UofL DFW Alumni Club, sponsored by the UofL Alumni Association, hosted Weekend College 2009.
Weekend College is an outreach program by the University to actively engage with alumni and other supporters outside the Louisville area. This was the first time that the event was held in Dallas.
The featured speakers for the Dallas event, which was held at the Renaissance Dallas Hotel were James R. Ramsey, UofL president and economics professor, Marcia Hern, dean, School of Nursing, and Mickey Wilhelm, dean, J.B. Speed School of Engineering.
Below are links to the presentations made by each of these distinguished visitors:
Leading Beyond Your Comfort Zone: Is Nursing Recession Proof? - Dr. Marcia Hern, EdD, CNS, RN
Energy 101: A Discussion of How Much, Reality Checks, and What We're Doing About It - Dr. Mickey Wilhelm, PhD, PE
President's Update - Dr. James Ramsey, President
In addition, a photo album documenting the event is available for review.
The UofL DFW Alumni Club wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the University, to President Ramsey, Dr. Hern, Dr. Wilhelm, and the UofL Alumni Association (in particular, Associate Director for Alumni Relations Jonathan Israel) for the visit last Saturday.
It was definitely a worthwhile event as much valuable information about the status of the University was exchanged and we hope to participate in similar events in the future.
