Don't miss this opportunity to see the defending NCAA National Champions on one of their highly infrequent visits to Dallas-Ft. Worth (though with a lot of luck we may see them again in April at AT&T Stadium).
This past weekend, local University of Louisville alumni and friends had the unique opportunity to see Coach Jeff Walz' Number 5-ranked women's basketball team play in person.
"Unique" because during the period that the Cardinals were members of the Big East Conference, none of the Louisville athletic teams ever came to Dallas to play.
And next year, after UofL enters the ACC, the same will be true. But for this one season in the American Athletic Conference, the Cardinals basketball teams play home-and-home games with Southern Methodist University, and so it was that Shoni Schimmel, Antonita Slaughter, and the rest of the team came to Dallas.
The photoset below hopefully provides a bit of the flavor of the event for those who were unable to attend and a nice reminiscence for those who did. The Cardinals won by an 81-66 score.
The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 17-1 and a perfect 5-0 record in conference play. SMU enters Sunday's game with an overall record of 11-6 and a 2-4 record in American Athletic Conference play.
